Dainų Šventė - Speed run with captions - Part 3 of 5
The next Dainų Šventė, or Song Festival, will take place in Vilnius on July 6, 2024. The choirs will perform 32 songs in total. This is a speed run, with English captions, through five of the songs that will comprise the middle of the program:

We were just southeast of the axis of totality, looking southwest (i.e., parallel to it), across Lake Champlain toward Gore Mountain, NY. So the shadow of the moon approached us, at 2400 kph, on our right.

It appears that my grandma’s tiny hometown, Kybartai (pop. 4,000), has a world-class marching band now! LRT ran a charming feature on them in 2016. Three free throws at the end of the game and he only made one? Talk about throwing the game away. Lithuania was by far the best country in basketball per capita. If you think about their small population and little resources, then it's absolutely incredible how good they were. The Soviet team already depended on their players bc ice hockey was far bigger in the Soviet Union.
